“Building my Essence” by Dani Clayton

How do place and identity converge to tell the story of who I am? When I was first presented with this question, I was at a loss. But, upon deep reflection, I realized that the places I have spent my time over the years have allowed me to build the essence of who I am. Listen along as I unpack the significance of my hometown of Ottawa in this audio documentary.

Dani Clayton

My name is Dani Clayton (she/her). I am currently completing my fourth and final year of an Honours Bachelors of Communications and Media Studies with a minor in Women's and Gender Studies at Carleton University. I have a passion for dissecting and creating media. I care deeply about media representation and how it can be used both as a weapon against, and a saving grace for disenfranchised populations.
